Maximizing Your Business Potential

When the pandemic started in 2020, there was a shift in how business had to be conducted for the safety of employees and to continue to reach consumers due to everyone being at home. The show must go on. A lot of businesses had to shut down due to the dependency on consumers being able to physically use their products and services. But for those who conducted business online were able to maximize this opportunity.

Even though some businesses have begun to open up to the public, it would be beneficial for business owners to be set up to conduct business physically and virtually in order to stay afloat in changing times.

In January 2021, the Small Business Administration has predicted that the following business trends will dominate in 2021:

  1. Businesses will continue to make e-commerce a priority

As a business owner, it is important that you know what e-commerce is and how to maximize its potential, especially now. E-commerce is the activity of electronically buying or selling products and or services over the Internet. I will highly suggest that you have a website that provides you with the capabilities to have an e-commerce store. Prior to 2020, e-commerce was on the rise and predicted to continue to rise. So if you haven't already prepared for this shift in consumer spending, small businesses should fine-tune their e-commerce presence in 2021 to create a seamless experience for customers and make their sites mobile-friendly.

2. Offering alternative payment options

Offer payment options such as touchless payment so there is no need to sanitize credit card readers. Offer online payment and or curbside pick-up. This lessens paper receipts and interaction with people.

3. Allowing employees to work remotely

Employees being able to work remotely is a must during this pandemic to ensure the safety of everyone.

4. Virtual services are in high demand

Before the pandemic, virtual services were on the rise because of the convenience but after the pandemic started it became needed for many businesses to stay in business.
